1tablespoonof dark cocoa powderI used Hersey’s Special Dark
1tablespoonof vanilla sugar
1/2ozof chopped bittersweet or semisweet baking chocolateor dark chocolate of your choice
A pinch of salt
Optional
1/2teaspoonof cornstarch
Instructions
Chop the chocolate evenly with a knife.
Add chopped chocolate, dark cocoa, vanilla sugar and salt into small saucepan. Whisk together.
Add cup of milk and put heat on medium.
Stir frequently and bring to a soft boil.
When chocolate is melted and all the ingredients are incorporated, it is ready to be served!
Recipe Notes
Chocolate and sugar amount can be altered to personal taste. For a thicker hot chocolate, add 1/2 teaspoon of cornstarch. Stir continuously while heating to make sure it mixes evenly.
